STARTING A PROGRAM AND ENGAGING THE COMMUNITY
It’s important to involve the greater community in any farm to school program. Find more information below about getting started with your program, involving parents, farmers, chefs, and students. Or, if you ARE a parent, farmer, chef, or student, find out how you can participate in a farm to school program in your community.
GETTING STARTED
It takes a village for a farm to school program to be a success, and many people outside the school community want to help.
PARENTS & VOLUNTEERS
They can serve a taste test, help care for a school garden over the summer, and express their support for farm to school to the school board.
STUDENTS
For farm to school programs to be successful, students need to be involved on the ground level.
FARMERS
Farmers are an integral part of farm to school.
CHEFS
Chefs and culinary professionals are wonderful assets to any farm to school program.
